September 28,2011
I'm wishing for the weather to cool down.  I want to begin getting  my garden ready for planting.  Did not get as many starts going this year so will either buy them or just puts seed into the dirt.  Soon be time also to begin the winter activities, craft shows at the libraries, at the fairgrounds.  Christmas program for  Children's Sunday Church.  All this keeps the mind active and the body moving. Two important things at the age of 83.

Today is Brother Don's birthday.  Surely they have chocolate cake in heaven.Happy birthday Brother.

Easter is just around the corner

Here in my part of the world we have experienced so cool weather for several days.  Soon it will be very warm.  Recntly I put up a bird feeder near where I keep wather for the birds.  It is visable from my garden window in the kitchen.. It is so much fun to watch the birds.  My ring necked doves are real pigs.  They can empty the bird feed in a moment and chases the little birds away.  Have put seed on the ground in a container and the birds finally found it.  I just hope that we do not get pigeons coming.  Bob will make me put thyem away.  Those little critters poop all over everything.

My SS class is going to have a egg hunt at Copper Hills the assisted living close to us.  It is there mission to try and give the residents a smile or two when we visit.  It is so good for the little ones to inner act with the older people and it surely is good medicine for the older folks.

Month almost over

Goodness but the month of January is going fast.  This Evening was the Appreciation Dinner for all volunteers of Gila Mountain Methodist Church here in the Foothills.  We have grown so much in the past 2 1/2 yrs.  Neil Lefthwich our Pastor is a whirl wind.  With a smile and love just oozing from his body.  The medicine needed for us.  My work for the last 8 1/2 years in the children's ministry has been such a blessing to me.  I know now why my mother made all of us attend Church and SS each Sunday.  To learn about our Lord and the peace and contentment he gives us.  I wish that Bob could find the same feeling that I do.  We had a visit from our "granddaughter" Jetawn.  She was Peter's first wife but is still so dear to us.  She brought her good friend Dave along and what a package he is.  Just have 3 craft shows left for the season.  I miss it but a slower pace is nice also.  Have made some new tatting friends and have learned a lot of new things from them.

January 2011

It already is the 9th of January.  Last Friday and Saturday Jetawn  and Dave came for a visit.  It was so short but so loving and comforting  .Although she and Peter have not been married for over 10 yrs there still is love to be shared.  It would be so wonderful if everyone who can not live together still could remain at least on speaking terms.  There can be so much hate and hurt between two people, and when others in the family get involved it is worst.  I wish that my x daughter in law could or would forgive us as I have forgiven her.  It is so wonderful to have Jetawn for a grand daughter.  The certainly does not replace Jenny, as she is wonderful in her own right.

Today was most rewarding.  Our little children are so sweet and eager to learn all about Jesus and the Bible.  We made prayer bracelets.  Some of the children made two.  For friends, Mom's or themselves. They are a joy and I only hope that my Sunday teachers felt the same way about me as a child.

finished Ruby's quilt and it is quilted.  Will make the  pillowcases and work on my crafts this week.Tatting has hit some ruff spots.  More later.

Year is nearly over December 26, 2010

Ruby's quilt top was finished and taken to the quilting machine the end of November and picked up on Dec. 21.  I must say I rather like the orginal design.  My next goal is to frame 56 blocks of the Grandmothers flower garden appliqued onto white blocks.  The yellow center calls for the framing to be yellow. Then I shall take it to Joannie and her machine. The blocks were done by my Mother.  She passed in 1993.  I should be ashamed that they are not done into a quilt yet into a quilt.   I am hoping to reach 100 yrs of age.  I have 18 1/2yrs to  complete the job.  The  childrens Christmas Eve program was cute with a few minor incidents that were really funnies.  2 & 3yr olds will steal any show on earth.

Making a tripto Lake Havsau City so visit some friends.  They chaproned us to drive from Nebraska to Ohio so that we could apply our marriage licsense.  I needed my Mother's signature. They had only been married 7 months but my father-in-law felt better if we did not go alone.  Remember this was 1947.

AS we approach 2011 I pray that there will be a beginning of peace working so that we may move foward.
Our government will need some prayers.  I usually am an optimist but the GOP scare the dickens from me as well as the Tea Party  folks.  They are looking for blood.  And as usual when the GOP is in power the little guy will suffer.

before Christmas

Kinda got behind here.  For one old lady I have gotten to busy.  Guess that is what helps keep me young. But darn it does not make the "cracks" in my face go away.  I no longer have wrinkles--cracks.  One little guy in my Sunday School class calls them cracks.

The birth of our Lord is on the way.  The real meaning of Christmas gets lost in all the advertising and push on the TV.  I loved Christmas as a kid.  We did not have much but were happy.  We made a lot of our gifts and also the decorations on the tree.  No tree here only a ceramic one made by our deceased daughter in 1980 for use in our Airstream travel trailer.  Made a Christmas tree from our  cactus in the front.  After all this is the desert. .  Last week it was 88 degrees.  To warm for this time of year.

WHERE DOES THE TIME FLY TO?

The month of October is nearly over.  The library show was slow due to bad publicity.  Poor Dalene feels so bad.  A learning experience.  Life is made up of them.

The garage got cleaned today.  well sorta.  Bob has so much in there I wish he would sort and get rid of but pack rats just hate to give up stuff.  I must do more myself.

My garden is looking so good.  I am so proud.  from those seeds I shall have food and beautiful flowers.
My grandfather would be proud of me.

I must get back to Rubies quilt.  Should give her a call but long phone calls are not my best pleasure.the SS. children's program for the holidays is in the planning stage and projects for our mission also.  Dear Lord help me to make good progress and people happy.
